I know. I am long overdue for my reviews. So, here goes.

The Summary

Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires, Book 1)Claire Danvers is a sixteen year old --almost seventeen-- college freshman in Morganville, Texas. MIT, Yale and Caltech were her first picks as far as colleges went, but her parents had decided that Texas Prairie University (TPU) - Morganville, Texas was the closest and safest bet for their daughter. It's a shame they didn't look closer at the college-town run by vampires, not to mention the freshman dormitory hazing. Sanctuary comes in the form of off-campus living in a ""Gone With The Wind meets The Munsters"" mansion with the trendy goth girl Eve, rebellious Shane and the mysterious Michael -- who disappears during the day.

The Review
Glass Houses starts off with the always traditional moments of college life; hazing. It's a bit young for my taste, but the characters are endearing and the general tone of the book keeps me intrigued throughout the read, making it one of the fastest and easiest reads I've had in a long while. Caine has created characters who are decently well rounded, the development of the storyline throughout the book is smooth as she peels back each layer, uncovering the world of Morganville. I really couldn't wait for the second book in the series as Caine did something I rarely see in a novel--she pushed the action between the volumes, leaving me needy for the next installment. All in all, it's a deliciously good start to what I hope is a well played series.

Enjoy,
